Over 1 500 participants from more than 130 countries attended the first High Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation held in Mexico City, 15-16 April 2014.
Self-government reform in Ukraine and Poland’s local administration experience dominated the agenda of a visit that a Polish delegation headed by chief of the President’s Chancellery Jacek Michałowski paid to Kyiv on Monday.
On Thursday, Minister Radosław Sikorski met with Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman. The two officials discussed Poland’s assistance for Ukraine, especially in reforming its local governments and finances, and fighting corruption.
On 14 February 2014, Deputy Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz met in Stockholm with Frank Belfrage, the State Secretary at the Swedish MFA, and Tanja Rasmusson, the State Secretary for Development at the Swedish MFA.
"We’ve never had an opportunity to host so many of our partners in development assistance like we have today," said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Deputy Foreign Minister, during a meeting with representatives of non-governmental agencies, think-tanks and academic centres, who participated on 11 February in a discussion addressing the issue of Polish development cooperation.
